Wonderful Wildlife Garden
A big thank you to Bellway and Down to Earth who have helped us to create a wonderful wildlife area on our Key Stage 2 field.
We are thrilled to announce that Mrs Harman and the Eco-Council (with the help of the above organisations) have fulfilled their second aim of designing and planting a wildlife area on the school grounds.
Plants and flowers will be added to this area over the coming months by both gardening club and pupils during their science lessons.
We hope that over time, this garden will become and bright and beautiful area which will attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators to our school grounds. We also plan to add some benches so that the area can be enjoyed by pupils and staff.
In time, this area will be used to enhance our pupils learning across the curriculum. We hope that they will be able to use it in science to explore plants, habitats and evolution and adaptation. The flowers and plants will be observed and sketched as part of art lessons, and herbs will be used in food technology lessons.
